Yeah, I'll drink it.

Apparently Somalia, despite being arguably the most dangerous place on earth, is home to countless kick-ass poets. Which makes sense; how would one rationalize or cope with seeing people blown up all the time.
So this guy, is one of them, and grandchild of the famous Haji Mohamed. Also, he uses the secret weapon of the NBA, hip-hop.
Let's just forget he lives in Canada.

In Case You Haven't Seen This One
Joaquin Phoenix on the Late Show. Is this for real? It's gotta be some sort of ploy. . . ?

The Weekly Grind - Tomorrow's show

Awesome guest Tomorrow:
We have musician Drew Smith on the show tomorrow. He's opening for Ben Kweller in Omaha on Monday. His album, Drew Smith's Lonely Choir, was rated by Austin.com as 2008's #1 Album by an Austin artist.
Other Reviews:
Austin.com: "Drew Smith's Lonely Choir is a modern day Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band...a sound simultaneously pop-hook catchy (for the here and now) and smart-art NPR-ready (for the critical immortality)."
Houston Press Review: "The only thing smarter than Smith's wistful lyrics are his sympathetic melodies, which cross a musical spectrum from Loudon Wainwright to Counting Crows — although there's a vulnerable toughness that indicates this guy might kick your ass if he thought you were comparing him to either. It's smart pop, no doubt, but with an immediately recognizable down-home vibe that strikes a free-spirit chord."
His album is available on iTunes. Otherwise, check out his website HERE.
And as always, you can stream the show live HERE.

The Cody's Reconciled Party '10
Unfortunately it was 1910. But it sounds like it would have been one hell of a throw-down.
What do you think a 'smoker' was. Probably could get syphilis at one of them.

This could be the longest most thorough review of a Platte valley business I can conceive of. So much so that I'm attributing its ridiculous breath to be the only reason it would be published in the New York Times.
The painting this journalist creates of a yankees' view of what a town like North Platte might be like certainly adds to its majesty.
Luckily, its not that far off.

The Weekly Grind - Tomorrow's Show
Tomorrow we're going to be taking on the healthcare issue. Nebraska legislation has attempted to prohibit employee-owned hospitals...which is ridiculous. So, our guest for tomorrow is going to be a representative from the Center For Health Transformation. This is the organization that was founded by Newt Gingrich to revolutionize the healthcare industry.
Oh, and I should also mention we'll have a guest host...D. Whitney. That's right.
Please, feel free to call in and ask questions. Or email. Again:

Great Speech
If you have 20 minutes, here’s a great speech from TED.com. It’s about art, creativity, children, education and the future of the world. And it’s funny.

Five Dollar Cover
A new show from MTV that actually looks pretty good. It's called Five Dollar Cover and it's a semi-reality show based around the music scene in Memphis. And no, Coulter's not in the preview.
