It has begun.

The Memorial Day weekend was a nice kick-off to what's sure to be a hell of a summer...chock full of weddings and other random rendezvous. I'm looking forward to it. Here's the sched:

June 8 - Damian & Jaci (Crashing at Damo's)
June 23 - Murm & Rachel (Got the mammoth suite at the Holiday Downtown)
July 4-8 - Camping at Harlan Reservior before heading to Holdrege on the 6th and 7th for RJ's wedding (We have a couple adjacent rooms at some non-chain hotel)

That's a wedding every two weeks, kids. Put your seatbelts on.

In the meantime, think of a good summer-ending throw-down for Labor Day weekend (How about Nevada @ Huskers game?)

Cop on weed

This, my friends, is hilarious.

Hand in Hand with B's recent Ad post...an 'exit-gem'.

"She should be dark enough to score that hip diversity dollar, but not so dark as to scare away that heartland racist dollar."
I really enjoyed this simple website...but you don't have to take my word for it!

Big ideas win.

A recent article in Fast Company has illuminated that the idea gap is closing quickly. What is the idea-gap you ask? Well, in my opinion it's the ability for Joe Schmoe to come up with a world changing idea...without being part of some large corporation.

In the advertising world, it used to be that big agencies ruled, while small start-ups floundered. That's no longer the case. Today, it's not about how many satellite offices you have or if your CEO has his/her own helicopter. It's all about the ideas. Large companies are now looking to small, fresh companies who are full of big ideas.

Putting this in context of Exit 177, it's refreshing to know it's possible for a group of people to come up with great ideas and always have hope for them. Ideas coming to execution is now possible for us average blokes.

You can read the Fast Company article here.

I'll get into open-source later.

Rough Weekend For Huskers

Maurice Purify punched a girl. Allegedly, he was fighting with a doorman when said doorman's girlfriend tried to break up the fight. Next thing you know, she gets punched in the head. Shocker.

His status on the team hasn't been declared just yet. Callahan is looking into all the facts. But from what I've heard, he's gone.

Read all about it at JournalStar.com.

This is all on the heels of the baseball team getting swept (at home) by Coastal Carolina. Oh, and for a little extra salt in the wounds, Ryan Wherle, our All-American shortstop got booted from the team. This isn't a big surprise, the guy's known to be a pretty big lush/douche.

But overall, when it rains it pours. And it's been rainin' like the dickens here in eastern Nebraska.
