Beer? Exits? The stars are aligning for the Blog Apocolypse.

Get a load of this article from the Associated Press:

NJ brewery draws ire for naming beers after exits

The brewer is Flying Fish Brewing Company.

Wouldn't that be something to have an Exit 177 beer. What would it taste like?

Top Summer Albums of '09

For this post, I was inspired by one of my favorite radio stations, KCRW in Santa Monica. They recently had their hosts rate all of the summer albums and come up with personal top-ten lists.

But before I post their results, I want to get the 177's opinion on the topic. What do you think are the best albums so far this year? And because we all haven't purchased or heard 10 different albums, let's just try five.

And if you've never heard of KCRW, I highly recommend it. Their morning show: "Morning Becomes Eclectic" is absolutely rad, with live in-studio performances by some great bands.

Dig.

Huskers Going Retro for 300th Consecutive Sellout

I think Suh should even wear a single-bar helmet, so it's easier to eat the quarterback's lunch.

New Writer on Brews 'n' Booze

Kids, it's summer. Drink beer and write about it. But in other efforts to revive Brews and Booze, I've commissioned the help of a college kid. Ryan Larsen (Chris's Brother). His resume is mortared with skills. He's a senior broadcasting major at UNK...so he knows how to write, and he obviously knows how to drink. After all, you can't spell drunk without UNK. But even more impressive, he currently works as a news director for NTV in Kearney...working hand-in-hand with the infamous Seth Denny. If that's not enough street cred, I don't know what is.

And he's rad at Nintendo.

So help me welcome the newest writer (and hopefully savior) to Brewsnbooze.blogspot.com.

Cheers!

NP Makes a Huge Marketing Push

Apparently, North Platte and Lincoln County have brought all the smartest people together to figure out how to bring more people to the good ol' 15-county. Their solution...a trailer. Go figure.

Bay Area Tour Guides

I just wanted to let everyone know that if you haven't been to the Bay Area, now is the time to go. James and Jen provide shelter and one heck of an experience. You couldn't ask for better tour guides. We managed to see everything that was suggested by an article I found while performing a google search before everyone was awake, only to find that we have already been to all but like one (it didnt sound cool). We also visited the Raiders and Stanford, and took a close look at Cals campus and stadium. Anyway, thanks James and Jen that was a good time. To everyone else, hit them up before they move.
